Ladies and gentlemen this is the Late Show with Johnathan Hernandez!
Giro
This is an interesting Giro so far, since Gaviria is proving he IS indeed the most promising young sprinter (sorry Caleb) and that Andre Greipel still has got some power on his legs. Nairo and Nibali are calm right now, with the flat stages that are happening right now. Pinot is looking good and so is Yates. Interesting tour so far.
Question of the day
Will Gaviria wear the SC jersey till stage 21?

Talk Segment
Ladies and gentlemen please welcome from Yuri Super Team, the one, the only Yuri!
JHDZ: How are you?
YURI: First of all, thank you for the invitation. I’m a fan from your Late Show articles, so being in one of them is a true honor. I'm feeling great. Netherlandese Tour is coming up, so the mood is obviously great!
JHDZ: What made you like cycling?
YURI: As many already pointed out it was because of the Tour de France. My grandfather also loves cycling and from a young age I got used to watch the TV coverage of the Tour with him. The memories of the Armstrong - Ullrich fights are still fresh on my mind. From then on, I just couldn't stop fallowing the cycling races.
JHDZ: How did you join OCM?
YURI: On the wild summer of 2009 after the Tour de France I was looking for an online cycling game to play. I signed in like 3 or 4 games but quickly understood that this one... was the right one. I initially thought that I wouldn't last long playing it since it required me to have a PC (back then I had to ask my father to use his one) and also because I wasn't used to play a game for a long time. Now, it's been almost 8 years playing this amazing game...
JHDZ: What made you stay?
YURI: Good question haha. There is no clear answer. I think there has always been a certain mystic around OCM. The fact that you are able to know every single rider’s/manager's name makes it much more interesting. If you compare this with other online games with lots of different "worlds" you don't know anything about (or even levels you can't even reach) you'll understand what I mean.
Also, the fact that the community is not super big, very communicative and the fact that the forum is very well integrated in the game makes playing this game a lot more interesting.
Of course, getting great talents also helps. I think that in my case, Patya Gordeyeva was the rider that made me stay in the game this long.
JHDZ: What has been your best moment in the game?
YURI: Thankfully I had a lot of them. Winning both sprinting classics in division 1 (Norwich-London and Helsinki GP) and the Essex Tour was very important. But the Netherlandese Tour has always been my goal.
So, to try to answer your question, my best moment in the game was back in Season #13 and Season #14. Patya started the season finishing 2nd (!!!) on the Volta ao Porto YC, got a 3rd place in Helsinky GP and finished 2nd in Netherlandese Tour (taking the YC home). He lost the Tour by 1 second to a super Torben Sturmann. On the next season Patya won the Essex Tour and the Helsinky GP (which he won the season after, too).
I actually ended winning the NL Tour on its 24th edition. But I must admit that the 4th and 5th editions where way more special to me. The GC fights back then were insane (TF didn't exist back then).
Also, leading Portugal to win the CoN on season 37 was obviously a very important mark for me, too.
The social part of the game has also been special to me and looking back and seeing a lot of social activity developed by me makes me feel very happy, too (helped start the OCMagazine and writing many many Tour previews, the Season Awards, the IBIAB competitions, been an Official Supporter, started many history threads, etc...)
JHDZ: Something you miss?
YURI: Patya's old days hehe. I mostly miss the great legends of the game to be honest. And since I mentioned it on the last question, I miss the constant Tour previews on the front page. I think OCM was a bit more active back then...
JHDZ: Something you are proud of?
YURI: And we're back to the 5th question hehe. I'm very proud of many things thankfully. Helping the OCM community having more activity and helping some new managers is something I didn't mentioned before but are also something I'm proud of.
JHDZ: Favorite OCM manager
YURI: Another difficult question... Eli (Equipo Easy On) because he was the father of OCM’s modern age in my opinion. He was the first to build a proper Division 1 team and he was the one who "found" the hilly races. He destroyed the competition back then with Truman Vancil and dominated the TT races with Gregory Levis. But also, Tirilla (Team Tirilla). Being a sprinting team means that Tirilla was my benchmark. His accomplishments are something I admire. Einar (CCFC) is someone who deserves a statue or a street with his name. He plays since the beginnings of OCM and has always helped OCM getting better and better. I obviously admire him. There are many more that I like and admire, but I should not mention all of them I suppose :)
JHDZ: Favorite OCM rider
YURI: Patya Gordeyeva obviously... But also, Lean Ahnfeldt-Mollerup, Jens Waesbergen, Rytis Kondrotas, Sandro Montelbano, Farruco Alonso, Hanke Vibbard, Otto Beier, Torben Sturmann, Tadaki Ko, Truman Vancil, Anghel Ghidarcea, Nicodemus Balanchine, Susumu Miyazaki, Wim Lowik, Kevin Surface, Nico Holt, Salim Wajeeh, Gregory Levis, Keegan Shiable, Solomon Henschel, Sterling Dorsher and Rodney Hodgson (out of the All Time Top100 hehe). Sorry, I simply can't decide... If you have the chance, go and watch all of this rider's profiles!
JHDZ: Plans for the future of your team?
YURI: To be honest I don't have many plans, never did. I'm currently training Hermano Montenegro and if he maxes high (fingers crossed) I might start on building an all Portuguese Team. This is something I always wanted, but simply couldn't resist to the other talents around OCM. But with my sprinting team getting older, I might simply do that. And if the right talent appears, I might re-build my climbing team. Just give me 10 years to do all this hehe.
JHDZ: Ladies and gentlemen a big applause for Yuri! If you have any suggestions or want to be a guest please leave a comment or PM, I answer to all messages. We want Dwalin!
Thanks guys!

Awesome interview.
The break aways on he Hill races used to ruin teams chances with a hill captain. The chance of a break away was turned down and thus the hill teams began. Its been a wild ride. Thanks for the memories Yuri.
As always nice work.
Nice long interview, enjoyed that. Thanks guys!
